1,200+ bikes received thanks to the ABC15 2nd Chance Bike Drive!
Check out the community partners who helped SVdP reach such a large total alongside ABC15 and Earnhardt Auto Centers!
Thanks to our partners — ABC15, Earnhardt Auto Centers — and the generous donors and supporters across the Valley, we were able to collect over 1,200 bikes and more than $11,000 in monetary donations to help those in need in our community. Together, we’ll be able to give bikes and hope to guests like Alinda Nelson.
"We’re so grateful to everyone who came together to make this year’s 2nd Chance Bike Drive such a success.," said Shannon Clancy, SVdP's Rob & Melani Walton Endowed CEO. "Every bike represents freedom, joy, and opportunity for the people we serve, and it’s heartwarming to see our community rally behind that mission year after year."
This year’s bike drive was made even more special thanks to the incredible generosity of the Bob Bové Foundation and GCU CityServe, who truly embody the spirit of giving. Both partners recognize how life-changing a simple bike can be—for sheltered residents at SVdP, for kids in our Dream Center, and for neighbors experiencing homelessness.
2025 Exceptional Community Partner Donations
Bob Bové Foundation
In honor of her late husband, Bob Bové, a dear friend and longtime supporter of SVdP, Charmie Simms and her family continued Bob’s legacy of compassion. For three years, the Bob Bové Foundation donated bikes to SVdP, bringing joy and opportunity to countless individuals. This year, Charmie and her family carried that mission forward by donating 60 brand-new bikes to students in SVdP’s Dream Center.
Watch Charmie’s interview with ABC15 to hear her inspiring “why” behind the donation.
GCU CityServe
Reliable transportation is one of the toughest barriers our residents face as they work toward permanent housing and stability. GCU CityServe is helping to break that barrier through their generous donation of 30 electric tricycles, each valued at $1,499. These bikes are first received by SVdP’s bike shop, where volunteers and our bike shop supervisor refurbish them before gifting them to residents graduating from our Interim Housing Communities into permanent housing or full-time employment.
Hear from Nathan Cooper, Director of GCU CityServe, in his interview about why this program and donation are so meaningful to him and those we serve.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the ABC15 2nd Chance Bike Drive and to all those who continue to help care for the most vulnerable in our community.
